Charcoal Smoothie Recipe
I'm always asked what supplements I use. A stable supplement i've been using over the years is protein powder and that's due to it's utility and convenience. Whenever I'm short on time or craving something sweet, I resort to protein powder to get the job done.
One of the biggest challenges for most of my clients when it comes to nutrition is meeting their protein requirements. If this is a struggle you have, then I highly recommend getting protein powder, at least for post workout. I'm sharing with you my daily protein shake that I normally drink after my workout. When I'm craving something sweet, I'll turn my protein smoothie into an "acai bowl" and add some granola and delicious healthy toppings. What really makes my smoothies sweet and satisfying are the superfood mixes. In this recipe, I'm using my favorite (the black superfood charcoal mix).
The benefits of activated charcoal include:
- general detoxification
- digestive health
- reduce gas bloating
- aid heart health
- anti-aging.
Ingredients
- 1 scoop Women's Best Vegan Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1 scoop Women's Best Black Superfood Smoothie Mix
- 1cup of raw oats
- 1 cup almond milk/coconut milk
- 1 cup ice
-
Pour ingredients into your cup and blend. That's it!
-
For those who prefer a thinner shake, add an extra cup of almond milk, or milk of choice.
-
For those who enjoy creamy thick shakes, I recommend adding your milk base slowly to avoid over pouring.
Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. Pressure turns into stress when you feel unable to cope. People have different ways of reacting to stress, so a situation that feels stressful to one person may be motivating to someone else. Many of life’s demands can cause stress, particularly work, relationships and money problems. And, when you feel stressed, it can get in the way of sorting out these demands, or can even affect everything you do.

Many eye exercises are touted as ways to naturally improve eyesight and overcome nearsightedness. The Bates Method suggests palming, movement and visualization techniques to reshape the eyeball and improve vision. Yan Bao Jian Cao suggests massage and acupressure as ways to relieve strain and eye problems. However, none of these exercises are verified to have more than anecdotal or placebo results. While vision therapy is a serious area of optometry that addresses problems with alignment, tracking and strain, there’s no sound evidence that vision exercises can affect clarity.
